How to be a good cook.

A good cook is a person who is able to create a good dish with whatever ingredients she can find. The most simple ingredients can be turned into a good dish. A good cook can also substitute other ingredients to a certain recipe to make it different. She can look at the recipe at a glance and know that it will not turn out good.She can take the recipe but add in her own ingredients and sometimes change the method of cooking. That is what I used to do. I love to buy recipe books and browse through and change it to the way I love it. So from one recipe you can get several versions. That is why my family and friends enjoy their meals with us.

Today I am going give you my version of dall cook with rice and the dishes that go with it. I am writing my recipe in Bahasa Malaysia so that it will benefit my Malaysian readers.

Nasi Kacang Dall.

Ingredients.

1 cawan kacang dall direndam selama satu jam.
4 cawan beras direndam 1 jam.
2 labu bawang besar dipotong dadu.
5 ulas bawang merah, 3 ulas bawang puteh, 1" halia semua dimayang halus.
3" kayu manis ,2 kuntum bunga lawan dan 5 biji buah pelaga.
1 paket sebuk kari ikan dan 1 paket serbok kari daging (harga 50 sen satu)
2 gelas susu cair ,1 cawan tomato sos dan 2 keping Maggi Ayam .
1 cawan buah kismis kering dan sedikit daun kari.
1 sendok minyak sapi dan 1 sendok minyak masak.
6----7 cawan air (sukatan atas kelembutan beras)

Cara membuatnya.

Panaskan minyak dan minyak sapi dan goreng bawang besar. Bila layu diangkat. Goreng buah kismis dan angkat. Tumis ramuan yang dimayang sampai wangi dan masok kan rempah rempah dan 1 cawan air. Letak daun kari dan biar dia mendideh dan naik minyak. Masokkan air dan kacang dall dan biar ia mendideh. Tuangkan susu, tomato, dan Maggi Cub. Apa bila mendideh masokkan beras buah kismis dan bawang besar goreng. Masokkan 1 sudu besar garam kasar dan 1 sudu besar gula.Tutop periok dan biar kan ia masak.
